We’ve decided to climb the mount on our 2 years and 5 months together as a couple. I was confidently telling Duane that I have thought of a caption for this hike and it would be “On Wednesday, we wear pink” because I was wearing all pink and even joke around saying he wouldn’t be included in the photo because he’s not wearing pink and that’s the rule. But then, I guess my caption would be a bit longer for this one…
You see, I’m the kind of person who’s very organise. I plan things. I’m very articulate as to what I want to do when we’re going out. But everything changed. And I normally don’t like change — It terrifies me. But this change is all too different. It’s great. It’s better than what I have planned…
Everything changed when Duane was taking my photos while I was overlooking the cliff and when I turned around, he got down on his knee and asked me “Will you marry me?”. I couldn’t think for few seconds — I was speechless. I cried so much and then I’m all giggles. I couldn’t even say yes. He had to ask again.
And since I was so happy and excited — I sort of throw up because that’s what happens when I’m so giddy. It’s been days since it happened and my emotions have been up and down and I bet that won’t change for a while.
I always thought that if Duane would do it, I would at least have the slightest idea. I was even telling him on our way to the top, “On 2021, I won’t be planning things. I’ll relax.” But out of character, he said “Well, it’s still good to have plans”. This guy had something else on his mind.
So yeah, On Wednesday we wear pink but now, I wear diamonds as well. 💍 (at Tauranga, New Zealand)
